Our client provides property solutions to a wide range of clients - Public and Private Landlords; Education and Healthcare institutions; Retail and Financial services. You will be responsible for the day to day management, operation and administration of voids re-instatement, planned and reactive repairs contracts. As the Business Development Manager the main purpose of the job is to effectively manage sales activity and market the full range of services to new and current clients to secure the maximum number of tender opportunities in our target market.
You will need to have proven success in winning major new business in the building services sector, experience of bid preparation, presentation skills, excellent communication skills, both written and oral and a demonstrable tack record of customer relationship management with a diverse range of clients.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
§ Contact and meet new clients to actively promote the company and secure tender opportunities by providing effective solutions
§ Maintain links with current and past clients to ensure we receive their tender opportunities
§ Provide market intelligence and pipeline reports to the Building Services Division management team
§ Represent the Group in the building services/social housing sector, including but not limited to attendance at industry events, conferences and forums
§ Manage the process of identifying all potential opportunities available to the Group in the market within the parameters set by the divisional management team
§ Establish, monitor and manage sales targets
§ In conjunction with the estimating manager monitor progress of prospective and submitted tenders
§ In conjunction with the marketing team ensure that the Group's brand is appropriately promoted in the sector
§ Undertake client presentations
§ Produce bid documents for submission to clients to agreed quality standards and within strict deadlines, producing case studies and advising on pricing issues
§ Any other duties that are reasonably required for the effective functioning of the role
Essential requirements are:
Must have contacts in Local Authorities, or the wider public sector (eg NHS or MOD).
Must have experience of winning work in Building Services Maintenance and small projects (eg Air conditioning maintenance, public buildings boiler rooms, electrical systems etc)
The ideal candidate must win work for the end user (eg Local Authority, NHS etc) not the property developers.
